This is Nobby's Beach in Newcastle, Australia. On the left you can see the lighthouse and breakwater leading into Newcastle harbour; on the right you can see the Surf Club and Fort Scratchley overlooking the Pacific.

It is one of my absolute favourite places in the entire world

This is so nice! I wish I was there, snow is no fun. I guess I'm a photography noob, but how did you take this panorama? Did you edit several photos together or is there a way to do it with your camera?

I took six overlapping photos with the same exposure (1/250-second each) in aperture priority mode (Av) from left to right and then I used a programme called Autostitch (its a free download from here [link]) to join them. Then I rotated, cropped and did some contrast/saturation editing in Photoshop before saving and voila, instant panorama

Its probably best if you use a tripod to shoot but if you're lazy (like me!) then you won't bother and you can still get spectacular results

PS Snow is awesome, I'd kill to get some in winter
